social experiment: Missed connections
While engaging with tech, we don’t always notice our surroundings. It’s a shame, especially in vibrant cities like NYC. Combining creative writing and Craiglist, this project reminds us to be present.
Posted on Missed Connections, local creatives (comedians, musicians & more) wrote pieces about distracted bystanders. Fake tales of folks who missed out because, I don’t know, their TikTok “For You” slapped that day. Then, we crossed our fingers for feedback.
the results
In our dreams, we’d have received glowing responses from folks vowing to be more present. “Thank you, Mysterious Benefactor, you’ve changed our lives!” they’d cry. In reality, we were reported 9x, cursed at twice as many, and received some questionable propositions.
With that, the experiment results are clear: “failing” with enthusiasm is what creativity is all about—and when you’re lucky, it’s even entertaining.

Throughout Type2 (MAS), we submitted journals: one word representing an emotion, conveyed visually.
As a kid, I spent hours poring over fashion magazines, tearing out page after page for collages and découpage. For our last assignment, I went back to basics (pulling from Italian Vogue) while trying something new: shodō.
